Our Building

Renzo Piano, the acclaimed Italian architect behind
the Pompidou Centre in Paris and The Shard in London,
chose this site for his first completed project in the UK.

His vision was to bring heart and soul back into this part
of London – replacing an impenetrable government block
with something open, human and full of life.

The most distinctive feature of Central Saint Giles is its vivid ceramic façade – 134,000 glazed terracotta tiles in shades of yellow, lime green, orange, red and grey that shimmer in changing London light.

Far from random, this palette was chosen to resonate with the city’s surrounding textures and tones, echoing brick hues, shop fronts, music cases and the everyday colours of London life.

Central Saint Giles was conceived not only as striking architecture, but as a responsible contribution to the city. It achieved a high sustainability rating, incorporating green roofs, rainwater recycling and efficient heating systems – innovations that reflect a broad commitment to the environment and the urban experience.

Central Saint Giles is backed by leading environmental and digital certifications that reflect the building’s performance, resilience and occupier experience.

Its credentials include BREEAM certification, recognising high standards in sustainable design, operational efficiency and environmental performance, alongside WiredScore accreditation for best-in-class digital connectivity and infrastructure.

From concept to day-to-day operation, sustainability has shaped Central Saint Giles at every stage. Guided by a holistic ESG approach, the building combines environmental responsibility, social impact and strong governance.

With recognised credentials including BREEAM and WiredScore, alongside energy-efficient systems, responsible materials, natural light and shared green spaces, it is designed to support both business performance and wellbeing.
