Summer in the Piazza
Right between Tottenham Court Road and Covent Garden, the Piazza at Central Saint Giles came alive and we’re still smiling about it. Throughout the month of August, we brought our Summer in the Piazza programme to life with a season of Italian-inspired moments, treats and a few surprises along the way. Here’s a look back at what we got up to.
A Creative Afternoon in the Sun
Famiglia Creative Day
We invited families to slow down and get creative together. The Piazza transformed into an afternoon of fan painting, botanical bookmark making and a fresh lemonade stand that went down rather well in the summer heat. A proper family afternoon with no screens, no rushing, just good fun in the sun.
A Taste of Italy Came to the Piazza
Emilia's Pasta on the Piazza
Our soon to be neighbours, Emilia’s Pasta, joined us at the Piazza with gelato, fresh pasta making and exclusive pre-opening offers for our local community. The kind of thing you stumble into and end up staying for much longer than planned enjoying the live music, good company and a delicious food at one of our restaurants.
The Perfect Way to Close a Season
Bocce & Cannoli
We closed the season on 27 August with Bocce, the classic Italian boules game, and a live cannoli station in partnership with Casa Cannoli. Our dedicated monitors were on hand to get everyone playing, from colleagues enjoying a lunchtime game to little ones discovering the sport for the very first time. Visitors picked their own fillings and toppings, freshly piped right in front of them, which made it all feel a little bit special. Simply delicious, exactly what summer should feel like.
